Virus Removal is a process of disinfecting a computer of malicious software intended to cause harm or steal information from the infected computer. There are different categories of this dangerous software often called malware, spyware, adware, trojans, worms, viruses, etc. Depending on the severity and duration of the infection there are different methods that may be used to disinfect the computer. It can be as simple as running “good" antivirus/malware removal software designed to find and delete the offending virus, or as severe as backing up data and a total wipe down of the computer and all software has to be reinstalled.
